The rural commune of Gouchi is one of the most isolated in the Zinder region. As a result of this geographical position, some partners have abandoned the commune due to its remoteness and difficult access. The two laterite tracks passing through Wacha and Magaria are almost impassable. Municipal authorities complain that the situation has not yet improved. Added to this arethe nomadic villages, far apart from each other, which do not facilitate the integration of grassroots communities. Some inhabitants are afraid of public services and voluntarily stay away, unaware of their rights and duties as citizens.Raising awareness of citizenship, rights and duties will awaken the population, create the conditions for the emergence of local organizations for the protection of fundamental rights, and serve as sentinel observatories for protection.
2. Overall objectiveTo involve the population of the rural commune of Gouchi in the fight for the emergence of local organizations for the protection of fundamental rights and civic education.3. Specific objectives&#xf0fc; Raise awareness of citizenship and civic-mindedness in 20 villages of the commune.&#xf0fc; Identify local players for the creation of human rights observatory committees.&#xf0fc; Train committee members in the defense of human rights&#xf0fc; Identify sites (houses, squares) for Guidan Kaariya observatories (defense houses)Equip Guidan Kariya observatories with communication tools: sound system, mats, chairs and benches.Expected resultsThe populations of the 20 villages in the commune of Gouchi are made aware of citizenship, civic-mindedness and their rights and duties.Local actors for the protection of human rights and citizenship are identified. 20 human rights observation committees set up 20 Guidan Kariyacenters for civic education and human rights protection have beenset up in the commune of Gouchi.Members of human rights committees are trained in civics, citizenship and human rights protection.Observatory centers for Guidan Kariya human rights protection are equipped with communication tools: sound system, mats, chairs and benches.</narrative>

   <narrative xml:lang="EN">Created by decree N&#xb0; 01069/MISPD/ACR/DGAP/DLP of December 22, 2020, the NGO SESOU is a national non-governmental organization, which works for the development of Niger, through actions for the promotion of vulnerable groups, and the fight for a healthy and sustainable environment. The NGO SESOU can intervene throughout the country. It is currently present in the field in five (5) rural communes of the Mrriah department and one (1) rural commune of the Damagaram Takaya department through the PASEJEF project (project to support the security of young girls).The NGO SESOU operates in three (3) areas: &#xf0fc; Development of the rural sector; &#xf0fc; Social development&#xf0fc; Promoting good governanceVISION of the NGO SESOUBy 2035, the NGO SESOU intends to become a national reference structure, specialized in the protection, integration and care of vulnerable groups, for an inclusive participation in the development of Niger.MISSIONOF THE NGO SESOUThe NGO&apos;s mission is to contribute to poverty reduction in Niger, with equity in a context of climate change.GOVERNING BODY The governing bodies of the NGO SESOU are :The General Assembly, which is the guiding and decision-making body; The Board of Directors, which is the executive body.
